After I achieved Nirvana1, I thought to myself what else is there left to achieve in life. I needed to become depraved again2, so I headed back to Pai. Thankfully, this trip was calmer – no less interesting though. My monastery mates were awesome, we chatted and laughed and really got to know one another3.

As one travels, there are these “quintessential” backpacker jols1. There is one in Pai, the Jungle Party. I can’t remember the details, because it was a long time ago2. I do remember that one takes a songthaew to a venue in the middle of the jungle. It is an open field surrounded by rice fields.
